Depression

Depression affects many people. Sometimes it can have a short duration and in other cases becomes chronic and more serious. There are other forms of depression of a more clinical nature such as bi-polar disorder which do need to be treated with medication as well as counselling or psychotherapy. Symptoms of depression can include mood swings, a general low feeling, irritability, lack of motivation, exhaustion, difficulties concentrating, pessimism, insomnia, crying, suicidal thoughts, inability to relate to others, social withdrawal, loss of appetite or eating too much, lack of sex drive, little or no enthusiasm or ability to take pleasure in anything. Depression can also lead to difficulties at work in relationships and performance and difficulties with our loved ones and friends.
